First, Why These Bucks?

Cade’s Lil Farm Gruff

Gruff is son of CADE’S LIL FARM PR JASMINE 4*M (daughter of SGCH OLD MOUNTAIN FARM SLEEPNBEAUTY 3*M 91 VEEE and +B GCH PHOENIX FARM DE POP ROCKS–a repeatedly Elite buck–and CADE’S LIL FARM BD AXEL (son of CMA IP MAYBELLINE and SG +*B FARM OLDESOUTH ZV BANDIT). Gruff’s sire is the full sister of SGCH Cade’s Lil Farm BD Revlon 1*M VVVE 90. Axel is one win away from earning his CH and is the sire of multiple champion does. Axel is also one daughter away from becoming a +B buck. Gruff’s dam has an incredibly built udder and teats. Her pedigree is simply amazing. He should bring milk and correct structure to his kids. His half siblings are earning their CH status and Es in mammary.

Double H Farm Crow

Crow is son of RHV DK Sophistica’n (daughter of SG RHV CTO RACHEL 4M 05/00 89 VEEV and *B REDHORSEVALLEY CNT DAKOTA) and *B WITCHWIND FB PRASUTAGUS 01/04 86 VE+ (son of SG SG HOBBYCROFT E KITKAT 1M/1D 04/06 89 VVVE–*Many years ELITE* and on multiple Top 10 lists–and +B HOBBYCROFT AP FACE OF BOE 02/03 84 +V+). Okay! Hoping I have this all correct! Sire’s dam, S HobbyCroft E KitKat 1M, ranked #5 in Production and Protein in 2017, #2 in Production and #9 in Butterfat in 2018, placed on the ADGA elite list years in a row, rankin 96% in 2023, ranking 97% in 2020 and 2019, ranked ton 98% in December and 97% August in 2018, ranked 96% all 2017), and won many Juju awards. Crow’s sire’s full sister is SGCH WitchWind FB Laffy Taffy 2M, who appraised 86 ++EV as a two year old doe, won a Bronze Juju award in 2018, Gold & Platinum Juju awards in 2019, Gold Juju Award in 2020, was an elite 97% doe in 2019 and 2020. She made 1205 lbs of milk in 2019 at 2 years old. Crow should bring improved production and correct conformation to his kids. I am hoping his dam earns her star in 2024.

Wethers (neutered bucks) will be $150 no matter the sire or dam. These guys will be best for pets. I may discount 2 or more going together or include a wether for $50 as a companion for any intact registered buck purchased. I may also discount for herds active in 4H, milk testing, showing, or linear appraisal.

2024

February

Cowgirl x Crow

Bred to Crow 9/16

Due to kid 2/3-2/18

Doelings: $400

Bucklings: Most likely wether priced at $150 unless Cowgirl freshens with a very good udder.

I do like what I am seeing with her prefreshening udder as far as udder height and area of attachment!

Kicks x Gruff

Bred to Gruff 9/21

Due to kid 2/8-2/23

Doelings: $500 (one doeling retained)

Bucklings: $450 or Wether Priced at $150 depending on my choice

This doe should easily earn her star in 2024. Kicks has a fantastic butterfat. On milk test she made 6.4-9.7% butterfat. She peaked at 3.0 lbs of milk her first freshening while nursing her daughter not separated for milk testing. She scored 77 AGVA her first freshening.

Sophie x Gruff

Bred to Gruff 9/25

Due to kid 2/12-2/27

Doelings: $450

Bucklings: May all be wether priced at $150. I may offer them for sale as registered intact bucks depending on Sophie’s udder and production.

Analise X Gruff

Bred to Gruff 9/28

Due to kid 2/15-3/1

Doelings: $500 (1 doeling retained)

Bucklings: $500

She should very easily earn her milk star in 2024. She produced 460 lbs of milk, 30 lbs of butterfat, and 20 lbs of protein in 170 days only being milked once a day for the last 3 months of her lactation. She is also a very petite doe, which makes her production a bit of a surprise for me. She scored 77 AGGA her second freshening.

March

Delilah x Gruff

Bred to Gruff 10/5

Due to kid 2/22-3/8

Doelings: $450

Bucklings: Wether priced $150

She peaked at 4.4 lbs of milk in her previous herd her second lactation in 2022 and 4.2 lbs of milk her first lactation. This doe most likely has her milk star from a previous home. I am hoping to build trust with her and get her used to being milked, but I might move her along in 2024 if she remains standoffish with me. She nursed her doeling while on test for me, so I can’t say much about her production here. It was a lot of drama trying to get her to follow me for milking. I am hoping we are friends this year now. She does have amazing teats to milk. I do see a pocket in her foreudder, which is why no bucklings will be leaving intact as breeding bucks.

Cinnamon x Crow

Bred to Gruff 10/6

Due to kid 2/23-3/9

Doelings: $400-450 (Possibly one retained)

Bucklings: Wether priced at $150 unless Cinnamon freshens with a nice udder and production. Then, they will be priced at $400.

Dandy x Crow

Bred to Gruff 10/9

Due to kid 2/26-3/12

Doelings: $450-$500

Bucklings: $150 wether priced or $450 depending on Dandy’s second freshener udder.

Overheight doe unfortunately! She had a very nice butterfat with her lowest test being 7.9%. I am interested in how she will test without kids on her for 2024. She scored 82 GGVA her first freshening.

Bambi x Gruff

Bred to Gruff 10/11

Due to kid 2/28-3/14

Doelings: $600

Bucklings: $550

Bambi (April May) appraised 79 GAVA her second freshening late in lactation. She was JUST shy of meeting the production amount needing to earn her milk star in production. In 274 days and milking once a day the last months, Bambi made 610 lbs milk, 35 lbs butterfat, and 27 lbs of protein. She will star in butterfat and protein. I am looking forward to Gruff’s fixes on her udder in their kids. I think doelings from this pairing will have very nice mammary systems.

Shamrock x Gruff

Bred to Gruff 10/17

Due to kid 3/5-3/20

Doelings: $650 (1 retained)

Bucklings: $600

Shammy appraised 87 GVVV her third freshening. The appraiser mentioned the biggest thing she could benefit from is improved udder height and teat size. Gruff should fix that! These kids should be wonderful structurally in body and mammary. Sham is a bit difficult to milk test being an older doe used to dam raising. I am hoping she earns her star at least through a one day milk test if not her AR stars. I know she is capable of it. I love this doe and have kept a herd of goats from her. All her kids have grown to be calm and friendly animals. Her sons have been delightful as well. I am very glad to breed her to a very nice buck.

Blizzard x Gruff

Bred to Gruff  11/6

Due to kid 3/25-4/4

Doelings: All retained

*B Bucklings: $600

Blizzard appraised 83 GVVA her second freshening. Her udder being tilted forward deducted from her LA score, but the appraiser noted it was a capacious (very productive looking) mammary. He also mentioned looking for a buck with better teat size. Gruff should really help improve udder genetics while maintaining production. She will have a milk star from her 2023 lactation and has starred in every category easily despite dam raising her first test and milking once a day her last 4 months in milk. I am waiting for her final milk totals to be calculated. She should be at 673 lbs milk at least for 265 days in milk her last test with at least 41 lbs butterfat and 31 lbs protein. She should do very nice in 2024! I believe her bucklings will be *B.

April

Kit Kat x Gruff

Bred to Gruff  11/3 and 11/9

Due to kid 3/22-4/6 or 3/28-4/7

Doelings: 2 retained. If she has any extra, they will be $750-$800

Bucklings: 1 retained. $700

Kit Kat/Chaos appraised 85 GGVV her second freshening. Her second freshening, and she has her V in mammary. Appraiser noted her body and udder should mature more over time. The biggest thing holding her back from a higher score was her immaturity. Kit Kat has wonderful teat size, medial, and udder height. I am looking forward to her next LA scores.

In 212 days of milk and milking once a day the last 4 months, she milked around 492 lbs of milk, 30 lbs butterfat, and 22 lbs protein. The amounts are still being calculated based on her last test, but the numbers should be about the same as what I calculated. She peaked at 3.8 lbs of milk her second lactation. She had a previous owner who milk tested and claims she earned a star, but I am not sure. Her bucklings may qualify for a *B, but they may not. I believe she will easily earn her star here in 2024. In fact, I believe this do will do REALLY well!

Bella x Gruff

Bred to Gruff  11/16

Due to kid 4/4-4/19

Doelings: 1-2 retained $600 if any remain

*B ? Bucklings: $600

Bella most likely has a milk star from a previous home. Her first lactation in 2022 she peaked at 3.7 lbs with a 6.8% butterfat. Her second lactation in 2023 under my milk testing, she peaked at 3.3 lbs with a 7.6% butterfat that test before I switched to once a day milking. She had a very nice butterfat with many tests over 9% butterfat! With dam raising her first milk test and milking once a day the last 4 months of her lactation, Bella made about 503 lbs milk, 42 lbs butterfat, and 22 lbs protein in 262 days based on her last milk test data still being calculated. She will star in butterfat and protein. 2024 should be very nice for this doe’s record. I am excited to see how she appraises. The appraiser noted she had good body structure and a nice balanced mammary, though could have better teat size. If only she had been in my account in time! I think Gruff and Bella will combine to make amazing animals.

Callie x Gruff

Bred to Gruff  12/3

Due to kid 4/28-5/6

Doelings: All retained

Bucklings: $600

Callie appraised 84 GEEA her second freshening. I was really looking forward to seeing her udder mature more in later freshenings, but she lost half her udder 3 days after appraisal. Callie scored an E in two categories and has fantastic body width and depth. I would love a herd full of her, but would love to see Gruff improving udder shape and area of attachment. She has a lovely foreudder already. Callie milked 4.1 lbs on a one day milk test in 2022 her first freshening. I am not sure if a 3% butterfat was enough for her star. There’s a chance even with half an udder she may earn her 2024 milk star. Her dam has been on the Elite list for three years, and her dam’s dam is the multiple Top 10 doe, Denbow Acres Diane Legacy. It’s a shame Callie’s potential has been so limited. I hope she proves herself through her daughters and sons. I am hoping Gruff and her give me daughters to breed those girls to amazing bucks and see how far they can go.

Interested in reserving or purchasing a Nigerian Dwarf kid from us?

Ways to get in touch with me to purchase a goat or ask questions:

Contact me by clicking on the icons above or below at the very bottom of this page.

I am still editing my policies below, as I see what fits my farm and is in the best interest of the animals.

The dates above are guidelines. I will note every exposure and window of kidding the best I can. Goats may not kid on time or have been successfully bred the first time. I do my best to be informative. Any prices above are also subject to change unless a buyer has made a reservation for a Nigerian Dwarf kid for that kidding.

I am accepting deposits for kids to hold a kid from a pairing a buyer is interested in. Buyer can pay me on Paypal using the Friends and Family option and take a screenshot of the successful payment then send it to me. I will hold the goat(s) buyer is interested in until pick up. If the buyer changes their mind, the money put down to hold a kid will go toward another kid of their choosing. WITHOUT A DEPOSIT TO HOLD KIDS ARE 1ST COME 1ST SERVE unless discussed with me.

All kids sold after 8 weeks will come disbudded, with CDT shots and CDT boosters, tattooed with registration number, registered with the ADGA, and may be weaned (unless bottle babies and buyer plans to continue bottle feeding instructions). Bottle babies may be fed goat milk, whole cow milk, or a mix of the two. Bottle babies under 8 weeks old may not come with shots or tattoos. If picked up before 7 days old, they will not be disbudded by me. That would become buyer’s responsibility. Kids picked up between 14 days old and 8 weeks old may rely on their buyer to give their second round of cdt shots, register and transfer with the ADGA, and tattoo. A note on disbudding: I try my best, but there is a chance a goat may develop scurs. Scurs can pop off and be superficial. Sometimes a disbudding is done improperly and may result in true horns, which feel solid with no wiggle and are noticeably different. If I feel a disbudding has failed, I will always inform buyers–whether the goat is developing scurs or horns.

Reservations:

A deposit is non-refundable! If you put down a non-refundable deposit to hold a kid, I will not sell that kid unless buyer changes their mind. The money can then go to another kid. You will not get that money back for changing your mind or backing out, since I have held that animal for you at the expense of moving them on to someone else. Buyers making a reservation before kids are born get first pick of a kids from the goat of their choosing unless I plan to retain a kid from that kidding. If another buyer has made a reservation from that kidding, the person to place a reservation first gets to decide on a kid before the second buyer (first come first serve). If you do not respond to me within 5 days, I will ask the next person in line for their pick. You will no longer have first pick ahead of another buyer. If you do not respond within 15 days, I assume you have backed out. We will discuss date of pickup once the kid is born. Please note bottle babies under 3 weeks old are too young to give CDT shots and tattoo. You take on responsibility for that part of raising.

After birth, I will judge the value of kids that are not reserved and may adjust their prices based on their quality and udder of their dam along with their own markings and conformation. A first time or second time freshener with an udder better than I expected will be more likely to have the prices of her kids raised. However, the price is locked and will not go up once a deposit is made unless you do not pick up the kid as either a bottle baby before 3 weeks old or a weaned kid (past 8 weeks old for an additional $50 to raise). If you do not pick up the kid by the time we have agreed, the price will go up for the time I have invested, or you will lose your right to get the kid because I need to move the animal along! As the kids grow, they will have taken more resources (hay, feed, hoof trims, shelters), so their prices will likely increase after 10 weeks of age.

Once a goat leaves my property, I am no longer able to guarantee their health. The stress of travel and moving homes itself can make goats sick. Buyer purchases the goat(s) in agreement that the animals appear in good health.
