Chickens

Chicks!

Available now!

I will be continuously putting eggs of various types in the incubators.  They will take 21 days for chickens and 28 for ducks and turkeys to hatch. You can message me or visit my Hatching Eggs For Sale page to see prices and availability for buying eggs to hatch yourself. I am expecting to consistently hatch Lavender Ameraucanas, Silver Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhaubens, and Double Laced Barnevelders. I can also hatch some farm mixes upon request.

Lavender Ameraucana

$12 a chick straight run

Egg Color: Shades of blue to shades of blue-green

My Ameraucanas are purebred and not easter eggers. I am aiming to breed more toward the ideal blue color and show quality appearance as my breeding program progresses. Egg size is standard chicken egg (medium to large) Parent birds are very docile, and the rooster is the calmest and gentlest male I own. Get a fluffy bearded chick today!

Silver Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhaubens

$8 a chick straight run

Egg Color: White

A fun name to say! Spitzhaubens are curious and silly by nature. Once you befriend them (food and cuddles), they may almost always try to perch on your shoulders. Sometimes they even lay eggs in my lap. Spitz seem to be a very underrated breed. This variety looks like a Dalmatian with their black spots. Their size is between a bantam and standard chicken, but they usually lay standard (medium to large) eggs. Parent roosters seem to be able to live together with other roosters they are raised with and have no fighting due to their more passive and social nature.

Double Laced Barnevelder

$8 a chick straight run

Egg Color: Medium to light brown with speckles

What a pretty bird in the sunlight! The light makes their neck feathers purple and teal. My birds lay a mix of shades depending on the day. Every egg is different. Sometimes they are a darker solid brown and others they are flecked with chocolate speckles.

Farm Mixes

$3-$4 a chick straight run

Farm mixes may include: Blue Splash Maran x Barnevelder, Blue Laced Red Wyandotte x Barnevelder, Australorp x Production Red, Barred Rock x Production Red

Welsummers

Coming in the fall! Welsummers!

Expect to pay $10 a chick straight run

I am very excited for my Welsummer breeding program. I have one hen laying the darkest shade for her breed. Her eggs are comparable to a Maran but with a reddish hue, like red clay with shimmering speckles. It is an absolute delight to collect her eggs. I decided to add high quality Welsummers from Deer Run to improve my breeding program. I hope to offer darker and darker Welsummer eggs.

Adult Chickens

Turkeys

Turkey Poults!

Available now!

You can message me or visit my Hatching Eggs For Sale page to see prices and availability for buying eggs to hatch yourself. I am continuously placing eggs in the incubators. Turkeys take about 28 days to hatch. I expect to sell Royal Palms, Bourbon Reds, and mixes. If buyer wants Mottled Black turkeys, I can put those in upon request!

Royal Palms

$14 a poult

A beautiful and regal looking turkey, their black lacing makes them appeal to the eye. Pearl is my best broody mother. She also sports a beard. My toms are above average in size, so I expect they will produce larger Royal Palms than most for those interested in raising birds for meat.

Bourbon Reds

$12 a poult

Some of the friendliest hens I have bonded with are the Bourbons. I call all the females “Annies,” and they seem to really enjoy people. They have a rich red brown with white wing tips, though at first the poults get cheetah-like wing feathers before the white feathers come in.

Mottled Blacks

$12 a poult

My heartiest breed. The Mottled Blacks and Spanish Blacks seem to be more resilient. My tom, Drake, went broody summer 2022 and almost hatched eggs himself before the hen took over the nest.

Mixed/Crossed Varieties

$10 a poult

Pictures of adults are first generation Royal Palm x Bourbon Red crosses. Both turned out to be hens, so I don’t know what the male equivalent would look like. These hens are breeding to either Royal Palm toms or Bourbon Red toms depending on where I put them. I may also hatch more first generation crosses at the end of the year. They are actually the most beautiful turkey variety to me. I call them Monarchs, but I am sure there is already a name for the color.

Adult Turkeys

My turkey hens are eggcellent layers. Daily to every other day. They do slow down in the fall and stop laying in the winter.

At this time, No Adults are Available.

Ducks

Ducklings!

Available now!

You can message me or visit my Hatching Eggs For Sale page to see prices and availability for buying eggs to hatch yourself. I am continuosly placing eggs in the incubator. Ducks take about 28 days to hatch. I am expecting to sell Saxony, Blue Swedish, Welsh Harlequin, blue egger mixes, and Cayuga x blue egger mixes.

Saxony Ducklings

$18 a duckling straight run

$25 females (old enough to sex)

$12 males (old enough to sex)

My birds come from show quality lines, and I take great pride in raising this breed. Saxony ducks are my favorites. They are very easy to tame and seem to enjoy humans. They are naturally calmer from the start and are easily trainable when following a routine. I find them to be the absolute easiest to work with. They want to do what you want them to do. Saxony ducklings I have not handled much come up to me and nibble my shoelaces! They make a great dual purpose breed (as large as a pekin) and laying eggs daily. Hens also easily go broody if you don’t collect eggs daily.

Welsh Harlequin Ducklings

$18 a female duckling (pinker bill 1st day of life with 90% accuracy)

$9 a male duckling (darker bill 1st day of life with 90% accuracy)

Sexable at hatch by bill color! Females have more pink on their bill, and males have a greener or darker tinted bill.

Blue Swedish Ducklings

$12 for true blue shade ducklings

A duck that seems to come out of a black and white photograph, the Blue Swedish (or Swedish Blue) is a large sized duck with visual appeal for any pond.

Mixed Ducklings

$8 a duckling

A variety of colors possible. I have had a few lavender ducklings hatch by crossing the Blue Swedish drake over Saxony, Fawn Runner, or Khaki Campbell hens. I may have ducklings available from my blue egg gene carrying drake and a variety of ducks he is with, like the Cayuga below. Adult ducks are some examples of the mixes I have kept and raised.

Blue Egger Cayuga Mix Ducklings

Cayuga and blue egger (Fawn Runner x Blue Swedish) mix Ducklings

May lay shades of blue/grey/white with speckles or may lay black. Should be an interesting cross for eggs!

Expect to pay $8 a duckling

Available in the fall.

Blue Egger Ducklings

Blue Egger (Fawn Runner x Blue Swedish) Ducklings

May lay shades of blue or blue-green (may uncommonly lay white).

Expect to pay $8 a duckling

Available in the fall.
