Indigo was worth the long drive to Ohio and back! He has one FANCY pedigree. Indigo has some very nice milking genetics and champions in the show ring in his immediate pedigree. Everywhere I look in his pedigree, there are gemstones.  You can see a lot of the Wingwood style in him. He’s slowly starting to fill out and look more mature and regal. I am hoping he grows into a fabulous buck. He’s genetic potential for my herd is absolutely incredible. At 1 year 7 months, Indigo appraised AGA 79.

Let’s really talk about his mom for a minute. His dam, State Line Vesper 2M, has both Superior Genetics and is a permanent champion. In 2019 at 6 years old and 294 days in milk, she produced 2730 lbs of milk, 112 lbs of butterfat, and 92 lbs of protein. Many of her lactations have over 2500 lbs of milk. She is also a long lived and productive 10 year old doe who has made 15,540 lbs of milk recorded on milk test during her lifetime. I love that she scored an “E” in mammary (91 VEEE), and many of her relatives are does with strong, productive mammary systems and bodies. She is from great, high quality conformation lines. Vesper’s sire *B Blissberry MW Alimony is a neat guy. His dam (SGCH Blissberry J Alibi 4M) won National Best Udder in 2011, was on the ADGA Elite List from 2015 to 2020, and made the Top 10 List from 2009-2012. She made the Top 10 for EVERY category EVERY one of these years! She was even 1st place with production in in 2011 (2nd in 2010) and first place for protein in 2010. She was also 2nd for butterfat production in 2011. Alimony’s sire (Vesper’s grandfather) is ++B SGCH Kastdemur’s Most Wanted, who has made the Elite List from 2013 to 2022. That’s a lot of nice milking genetics for Vesper from her sire. Vesper’s dam, SG State Line R Lil’ Robin 1M decends from Lakeshore-Farms and Dover Farms, and scored an “E” in two categories on her linear appraisal at 5 years old. While Vesper herself is quite productive, her full sister, SGCH State Line Phoebe 2*M, was Elite 97% as a 2 year old first freshener in 2015 (producin 3080 lbs of milk).

Then we move to Indigo’s sire, *B Wingwood Farm Cool Aspirations, who comes from some of the best stock! Aspire Just appraised 90 VEE in 2023 and won his first show. His full littermate sister, Wingwood Farm Cool Angelica, has made the Elite list at 97% in 2023! I am trying to figure out how she placed in 2022. Aspire is a line breeding on Candyman (Candyman was his sire’s grandfather and his dam’s father). Aspire’s dam, SGCH Wingwood Farm Sweet Amber 3M, is a Candyman daughter, scored “E” in mammary (91 VEEE), 99% Elite in 2019 and 2020 AND 2023, and milked 2980 lbs her first lactation. Her highest lactation on record was her 3rd lactation with 3420 lbs milk, 166 lbs butterfat, and 135 lbs protein. Amber is almost full sister to the multiple time Top 10 doe SGCH Wingwood Farm Sweet Avina 3*M 04/05 92 EEEE 99% Elite. Amber’s sire, SG +B My -Enchanted-Acres LM Candyman appraised 91 VEE at 5 years and 8 months old. He made the top of the ADGA’s Elite List from 2o18 to 2022. Amber’s dam was SGCH Wingwood Farm Lucky Altima 93 EEE who also made the Elite List at 95% and 96% in 2019 (her sire also made the Elite List). Aspire’s dam is about as amazing as they come. Aspire’s sire is also a wonderful Nubian from Wingwood, *B Wingwood Farm Flyin Attitude 92 VEE. Attitude’s sire, *B Wingwood Farm CM Atlante 91 VEE, was 97% on the Elite List in 2021 and 2022 and 96% in 2023. Atlante is from Candyman and SG Wingwood Farm TL Aviva 2M 90 VEEE Elite 99% in 2018 to 2020. Aviva’s highest year of production was her 5th lactation in 2020 at 5 years old: 3930 lbs milk, 164 lbs butterfat, and 134 lbs protein. That’s a lot! Attitude’s sire checks all the boxes for genetic potential. Looking at Attitude’s dam, she checks the boxes as well! SGCH Wingwood Farm Lovin Alyssa 91 VEEE (at five years and five months) made the ADGA’s Elite List at 96% in 2019. She peaked at 11.3 lbs a day in 2021. She is daughter of SGCH Wingwood Farm Tao Arista 2M 91 EEEE–a doe who made the Elite List from 2015 to 2018. Arista remained in milk for 568 days her 3rd lactation. Indigo also has amazing half sisters from his sire and dam (see them below). At least two half sisters have earned Superior Genetics. Aspire’s sire has multiple relatives who’ve made the Elite list, including daughters, half sisters, and dam. Indigo’s genetics should produce some spectacular Nubians. He has a nice topline and rump angle like his dam. I need to take some nice pictures of him now that he is older. He also has a gentle and sensitive personality. I am excited to see kids from this gentleman! He should really add more milk and udder genetics to my herd.
