2024

First, Why These Bucks?

*B State Line Indigo Roans

~*B State Line Indigo Roans is son of SGCH STATE LINE VESPER 2M 06/06 91 VEEE (daughter of SG STATE LINE R LIL’ROBIN 1M 85 EVE+ and *B BLISSBERRY MW ALIMONY) and *B WINGWOOD FARM COOL ASPIRATIONS (son of SGCH WINGWOOD FARM SWEET AMBER 3*M 04/05 91 VEEE 99% Elite since 2019 and *B WINGWOOD FARM FLYIN ATTITUDE 03/05 91 VEE). Based on the behind records of the ADGA, Indigo has at least two superior genetic half sisters. His dam, Vesper, is simply a wonderful doe conformationally and her full sister was 97% Elite in 2015 at 2 years old. Vesper’s sire is son of SGCH Blissberry J Alibi 4M 92 EEEE (multiple Top 10 doe and Elite doe) and ++B SGCH Kastemur’s Most Wanted 90 VEE (multiple time Elite buck). Indigo’s sire, Aspire, won his first championship at his first show this vear. He also had his first appraisal and did fantastic: 90 VEE at 3 years old. Aspire’s full sister was 97% Elite in 2023. Aspire’s dam (a Candyman daughter) and many of her relatives are Elite–some even Top Ten. Aspire’s sire  also has multiple relatives who’ve made the Elite list, including daughters, half sisters, and his dam. Indigo’s sire’s dam milked neary 3,000 lbs her first lactation. Indigo is a Nubian with amazing potential. I am honored to have him here.

Terrell Creek Huckleberry

~Terrell Creek Huckleberry throws a splash into our genetics. He offers width and descends from a variety of milking lines, including Windsong Nubians, Ages Ago Acres, Hagler/Infinity Farm. Goats here and there have earned E or V in mammary, but many have not been in programs in his immediate pedigree. He comes from a dairy farm, so I am very interested to see how his kids appear and produce. So far I see improved body traits and Nubian character.

Let me know if you’d like to take any 2024 kids home to your herd!

Also, #F indicates the number of freshenings for 2024 kiddings. Doelings retained will be evaluated and may be offered as they mature and based on how many doe kids I have to choose from to add to my herd. I can add you to my waitlist if you are interested in a buckling or doeling from any pairing.

I do think all my Nubians will earn their milk star in 2024, but with the ADGA being behind…I cannot guarantee when your buckling will get his *B. You can see their milk records here (click goat, partial full name, type their name, and go to lactations):

Wethers (neutered bucks) will be $150 no matter the dam or sire. These will be the best for pets. I may discount 2 or more going together or include a wether for $50 for one intact buck as his companion.

All my Nubian kids will be “American Nubians.” They are not mixed/recorded grade. You cannot breed up to “Purebred” after they closed the herd books in 1980 according to the ADGA.  Breeding to any goat outside the closed herdbook of “Purebred” Nubians, makes them “American” forever no matter how many Nubians are in the pedigree, “purebred” Nubians or not . Please understand it doesn’t make a goat any less, since American Nubians have proven themselves in the show ring and production. If you prefer “Purebred” on the papers no matter what, I will not have any this year. I will be using AI next year and could possibly then.

Interested in reserving or purchasing Nubian kids from us?

Ways to get in touch with me to purchase a goat or ask questions:

Contact me by clicking an icon above or at the very bottom of this page.

The dates above are guidelines. I will note every exposure and window of kidding the best I can. Goats may not kid on time or have been successfully bred the first time. I do my best to be informative. Any prices above are also subject to change unless a buyer has made a reservation for a Nubian kid for that kidding. Keeping a goat until weaning costs an extra $50.

I am accepting deposits for kids to hold a kid from a pairing a buyer is interested in. Buyer can pay me on Paypal using the Friends and Family option and take a screenshot of the successful payment then send it to me. I will hold the goat(s) buyer is interested in until pick up. If the buyer changes their mind, the money put down to hold a kid will go toward another kid of their choosing. WITHOUT A DEPOSIT TO HOLD KIDS ARE 1ST COME 1ST SERVE unless discussed with me.

All kids sold after 8 weeks will come disbudded, with CDT shots and CDT boosters, tattooed with registration number, registered with the ADGA, and may be weaned (unless bottle babies and buyer plans to continue bottle feeding instructions). Bottle babies may be fed goat milk, whole cow milk, or a mix of the two. Bottle babies under 8 weeks old may not come with shots or tattoos. If picked up before 7 days old, they will not be disbudded by me. That would become buyer’s responsibility. Kids picked up between 14 days old and 8 weeks old may rely on their buyer to give their second round of cdt shots, register and transfer with the ADGA, and tattoo. A note on disbudding: I try my best, but there is a chance a goat may develop scurs. Scurs can pop off and be superficial. Sometimes a disbudding is done improperly and may result in true horns, which feel solid with no wiggle and are noticeably different. If I feel a disbudding has failed, I will always inform buyers–whether the goat is developing scurs or horns.

Reservations:

If you put down a deposit to hold a kid, I will not sell that kid unless buyer changes their mind. The money can then go to another kid. Buyers making a reservation before kids are born get first pick of a kids from the goat of their choosing unless I plan to retain a kid from that kidding. If another buyer has made a reservation from that kidding, the person to place a reservation first gets to decide on a kid before the second buyer (first come first serve). We will discuss date of pickup. Please note bottle babies under 3 weeks old are too young to give CDT shots and tattoo. You take on responsibility for that part of raising.

After birth, I will judge the value of kids that are not reserved and may adjust their prices based on their quality and udder of their dam along with their own markings and conformation. A first time or second time freshener with an udder better than I expected will be more likely to have the prices of her kids raised. Moonspots will also raise the prices. As the kids grow, they will have taken more resources (hay, feed, hoof trims, shelters), so their prices will likely increase after 10 weeks of age.

Once a goat leaves my property, I am no longer able to guarantee their health. The stress of travel and moving homes itself can make goats sick. Buyer purchases the goat(s) in agreement that the animals appear in good health.
